Nature is filled with flowers, herbs, fruits (and even weeds!) that have the potential to support healthy skin–free of artificial ingredients. With traditional small-batch handcrafted products made with natural ingredients, you have the opportunity to avoid the chemicals and preservatives of modern store-bought counterparts.
Swede Bee Co. takes pride in formulating products with minimal ingredients and never uses synthetic ingredients, preservatives or fragrances.
The following are ingredients that we use and their beneficial properties:
STRAIGHT FROM THE HIVE

Beeswax is a natural wax derived from honeybees. Wax in the honeycomb begins with a white appearance, but yellows with the addition of natural oils introduced by pollen from flowers. Known for its conditioning properties, beeswax is a natural skin protectant and humectant that soothes and hydrates. With anti-bacterial properties and vitamin A, it encourages cell development without clogging pores.

HERBAL PLANTS
Arrowroot Powder (Maranta arundinacea) - When used in natural skincare, it aids ingredients to penetrate the upper levels of your skin.
Calendula (Calendula officinalis) - Soothes minor cuts and wounds with antiseptic and antimicrobial properties. As a powerful anti-inflammatory, calendula calms a multitude of skin irritations.
Chamomile (Matricaria recutita) - Chamomile is known historically for its powerful anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties.
Comfrey (Symphytum officinale) - Comfrey roots and leaves contain allantoin, a substance that aids in growing new skin cells. It also helps to reduce pain and inflammation.
Plantain (Plantago lanceolata) - Soothes cuts and insect bites and accelerates dermal recovery. Calms itching and pain associated with skin irritations.
Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) - Yarrow contains antimicrobial and pain relieving traits and is wonderful for soothing skin that is prone to irritations. It is deeply nourishing, restorative and ideal for sensitive skin.
PLANT BUTTERS
Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao) - Rich in natural plant compounds called phytochemicals, cocoa butter aids to improve blood flow to the skin to smooth scars and wrinkles. It is high in vitamin E and other antioxidants, helping to soothe and protect the skin.
Shea Butter (Vitellaria paradoxa) - High in vitamins A and E as well as essential fatty acids. Due to its emollient nature, it is ideal for dry, weathered or damaged skin. Shea butter also offers a low level of UV protection (approximately SPF-6).
BOTANICAL AND FRUIT ESSENTIAL OILS
Bergamot (Citrus bergamia) - Supports skin health for acne-prone or oily skin. Citrusy, vibrant scent with a touch of floral aroma. Supports mental health and clarity.
Lemon Essential Oil (Citrus x limon) - Known for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Lemon essential oil has a fresh, zesty citrus scent with refreshing, energizing and uplifting properties.
Lime Essential Oil (Citrus x aurantifolia) - Provides antioxidants to the skin, which may reduce dark spots due to aging or injury. Lime essential oil also acts as a natural insect deterrent. Sweet, clean citrus aroma with uplifting and invigorating properties.
Spearmint Essential Oil (Mentha spicata) - A potent antimicrobial with antiseptic properties, it supports the protection of wounds from infection and promotes healing.
Sweet Orange Essential Oil (Citrus sinensis) - A great antiseptic and anti-inflammatory; aids in increasing collagen production and blood flow. Uplifting and calming properties.
BOTANICAL, FRUIT & VEGETABLE OILS
Avocado Oil (Persea americana) - A well known emollient and highly penetrating oil, avocado oil contains vitamins A and E that work in perfect harmony to improve skin texture–perfect for dry, dehydrated and mature skin. Its high content of unsaturated fatty and essential fatty acids makes for wonderful moisturization.
Coconut Oil (Cocos nucifera) - Coconut oil is wonderful for general moisturizing and serves well as a protective layer, aiding to retain the moisture in your skin. It also contains antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral agents that are excellent for dermal issues.
Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis) - An excellent oil for the skin due to its absorption properties that are similar to our skins own sebum. Jojoba oil is also non-comedogenic with intense moisturization for problem skin.
Meadowfoam Seed Oil (Limnanthes alba) - Provides intense moisturization and reduces the appearance of fine lines.
Olive Oil (Olea europaea) - Aids in repairing damaged skin and contains three major antioxidants: vitamin E, polyphenols and phytosterols. These antioxidants work to neutralize free radicals and also slow the natural aging process. Olive oil also delivers a natural SPF of 4-8.
Rice Bran Oil (Oryza sativa) - Rich in antioxidants, vitamin E and omega-3, as well as omega-6 fatty acids. Rice Bran Oil is known for its ability to soften, moisturize, soothe and nourish the skin. It also improves circulation, increases skin’s natural regeneration, slows the look of aging and brightens the complexion.
Rosehip Seed Oil (R. canina & R. rubiginosa) - Full of vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids to soothe the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles; reduces scars by aiding in cell regeneration.
Sunflower Oil (Helianthus annuus) - High in lecithin (a fat that is essential in the cells of the body) and vitamins A, E and E; great for broken, damaged or aging skin.
Sweet Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis) - High in fatty acids and anti-inflammatory properties as well as vitamins A and E. Sweet almond oil penetrates easily into the skin and serves as an excellent emollient for moisturizing.
Vitamin E Oil (γ-tocopherol) - Aids symptoms of free radical damage and encourages cell regeneration.
