With a passion for sustainable living and a realization of the benefits organic foods and medicinal herbs can provide, we started out on a journey to reinvent our family’s Shell Lake, Wis. farm. That vision has had continual growth over the past five years. Today, we at Swede Bee Co. are beekeepers and medicinal herb farmers with a big-picture focus on wholistic healthy living through sustainable agriculture.

As 4th- and 5th-generation farmers, we were inspired to transform the “back 40” of the family’s homestead, founded in 1893, to create an oasis to fulfill our personal goals of growing organic food and medicinal herbs. Grown from the ground up and tended to with our own hands, we soon realized the immense benefits organic foods and the herbs were contributing to our overall health.

Shortly thereafter, we added bees to our farm. We started with a goal of being part of the generation that saves the ever-important members of our ecosystem. Now, incorporating raw honey into our daily diets is helping us not only to realize the immense health benefits the bees provide but the greater implications they have for our environment.
